Our two properties, Seagull Bay and Bay West, greet you just as you come down the hill and turn the corner following the shoreline of Lake Superior into the city of Bayfield.

Conveniently located on the edge of town, we offer a quiet place to stay with easy access into town by car or foot – with direct access to The Brownstone Trail. The Brownstone Trail is a historic railroad grade used to ship lumber, quarried sandstone, and fresh produce from Bayfield and the Apostle Islands across the midwest.

Our favorite times of day to walk along the motel property are early summer mornings when guests are sitting outside their rooms watching the rising sun over Madeline Island. Or late in the afternoon when guests are unwinding from their day sitting back and watching sailors and kayakers navigate Lake Superior.

In the morning, it’s fun to hear guests planning their day. The excitement of going out into the Apostle Islands by:

• Taking The Grand Tour from Apostle Islands Cruises
• Kayaking along the Meyers Beach Sea Caves
• Booking a sailing charter

In the evening, we get to hear about the many adventures they had, the sites they saw, and the yummy food they ate. Seagull Bay anchors it all together by creating a home-like feel directly above the shores of Lake Superior.
